Over the past eighteen years, I have been a practicing Lady Red Hawk’s Taoist Wiccan Community member. This practice has helped me heal many deep wounds and manifest wondrous successes. We learn to go deeply into trance states during many of our rituals, taking our spirit on journeys far beyond this world. The trance process has become one of my favorite practices. The ability to witness someone become the essence of a Goddess or God, and observe the changes in front of your eyes is magickal! I came to make sacred fires and found a “home.” I’ve always been a seeker, open to understanding various ways to connect to the Divine. The Tao allows many views of the faceted rhythms and realities around us and within us. Lady Red Hawk has designed the practice and rituals to honor and explore the ebb and flow of the seasons as the yearly Wheel turns. These rituals also allow us to bow deeply to our shadows, bringing light and transformation to our essence. It’s a joy to explore Nature supported by a Circle of Love and Light. This Circle is a landing zone whether gliding in from above or emerging from the roots and earth of our Divine Mother.

 I became a part of the Taoist Wiccan Circle eleven years ago. What started as a casual date has grown into a strong, committed relationship with a wonderful community of healers, free thinkers, and people I love sharing a laugh with. I cannot imagine the rest of my life without Taoist Wicca. Through my fifteen years of practice, I have developed and strengthened habits of self-reflection, self-compassion, and found a joyful community and support system. As a recovering perfectionist, I’m still challenged by perfectionism. However, now I can draw upon the wisdom of the seasons and magickal tools learned in Taoist Wicca to recenter and remind myself that “I am perfect yet perfecting.” 

 

The mythological tales that inspire these rites surface in vivid images and reassure me in moments of self-doubt—such as with the Three Fates featured in our Summer Solstice ritual. I recognize the infinite possibility in the whimsical Maiden’s message: “Learn [your lessons] now or later, this life or another. How you learn them, when you learn them, matters not to me. I am forever young.” I feel the Mother’s nurturing guidance: “Be loving in your lessons and patient in each other’s process. Accept your lessons willingly, invest yourself fully, and I will rejoice, rewarding your sacrifice with fulfillment.” And I honor the Chrone’s wisdom: “Neither are my lessons harsh—only inevitable. Trust me, surrender yourself into change, and my lessons shall free you.” We’re free to refine ourselves for the better by seeking the lessons behind any unfortunate circumstances. The rituals and concepts are powerful meditations to study throughout the season. By following the Wheel of the Year, I can better maintain the balance in my life. Each year, I track my progress, find new insights, and see evidence of self-growth. Because of the self-coaching tools inherent in Taoist Wicca, I am now in my dream job and finally have solid roots beneath me. Coming into my power feels so good! Knowing that I will always have the Taoist Wiccan system to support me is even better.

I have been lucky enough to dive into the depths of Suzy’s work over the last few months, and I can say without hesitation that it has touched my heart in ways I never expected.
